Wacky Packages Series 8

I've been jonesing for a good trading card series for a while now, but Topps hasn't delivered much as of late.

Wacky Packages are always amusing though, and as it turns out, series eight has just come out.

The art work is brilliant as ever, and the topics are perfectly stupid and funny. Some of my favorites include the soda can parodies.

Vectrexual

I haven't done much blogging lately, because I've been experiencing a huge burst of real life "getting stuff done", which has included digging through boxes that haven't been opened for a while.

One of the best finds in the past few days has been my much beloved Vectrex game system.




I don't actually own any of the game carts or plastic overlays that were made for this system, but I'm a big fan of the built-in game Minestorm, which is a kind of Asteroids rip-off.



I found this thing at a thrift store a little over fifteen years ago, and was pretty thrilled. Nearly thirty years after it was built, it still fires up and plays like new. Talk about quality... wish my xBox worked as well.

Most Brutal Playmo

One of the many things that I love about Playmobil, is the way that a completely frightening concept can be made to look sort of normal and pleasant.

As a case in point, we have the Hooded Ghost special figure.




There is something oddly heavy metal about this Playmobil figure, which is exactly why I had to buy it.
