Good Halloween reading... picked this up last week actually. If you remember the mask from a few posts back, then it'll be pretty obvious as to why I'm excited about a regular series of recycled vintage horror comics. Great art, great stories, and it's all put together very well. Can't wait for issue number two.

The Swamp Creature

My favorite thing about collecting the LEGO minifigures over the past few years, has been trying to fish for the various monster figures. After putting together a vampire, (Frankenstein) monster, wearwolf, and mummy set, it occured to me that I was still missing one of my favorites... the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

And that's where the new Monster Fighters by LEGO comes in. Imagine an entire series based on these various monsters, but best of all, the smallest set features a "Swamp Creature" that just happens to look a whole lot like the classic Gill-man.





Great stuff! Things like this really make me wish that I was eight years old again. I don't collect LEGOs much anymore, but there's a good chance that I'll be hording a few of the various sets from this series.

The Chilling Archives of Horror Comics!

Today was Wednesday, which means that I hit my local comic book shop. I missed out on scoring the new Zombies book by Yoe Books, because they'd already sold all of their copies. They gave me this cool paper mask that advertises the three book The Chilling Archives of Horror Comics! series to tide me over until they order more.

Cool mask... and even cooler series of horror comic books.

Little Creatures

Remco's 3-3/4-inch line of Universal Monsters figures from around '79 or '80 is a lot of fun. My favorite figure of the bunch is the Creature from the Black Lagoon, which should be no surprise, seeing as how I really love the character and the film.

Spiderman Rubber Mask

Ben Cooper rubber masks are awesome. This Spiderman mask that I'd found a while ago is great, but the thing's become so fragile with time that I can't really wear it.

As you can see, this mask has started to deteriorate a little, with splits here and there. It's still creepy-cool though, like every Ben Cooper mask.



I have three of these, and each one is weird in some way.
